Our Volunteer Progran is structured to allow you to choose a role that matches your talents, interests and schedule. Volunteering should be a perfect balance between home life and community life.

If you have a good idea, and would like to become a coordinator for your very own "pet help project" please talk with an Angels With Paws volunteer today!

There are many jobs needed to help out animals:

  • provide temporary foster homes
  • make others aware of Angels With Paws
  • design flyers, posters, etc.
  • assist with the quarterly newsletter
  • assist with fundraising
  • solicit donors for silent auction items
  • conduct volunteer orientations
  • acknowledge donations and volunteer activities with personal letters
  • administrative data entry
  • make follow-up phone calls to check on the status of the adopted animals
  • update and maintain mailing lists
  • adoption counseling
  • phone assistance
  • greet people
  • pick up donations
  • take pets to nursing homes and spend time with the pets and patients at these locations
  • cleaning of cat areas and shelter
  • staff booths at special event

Pet overpopulation and animal homelessness is a community-wide mission. Are you doing your part? The best way to get involved is to start in your neighborhood. Whether you have 40 hours a week or just 40 minutes, every little bit counts, visitWe are a cage-free friendly environment providing medical & rehabilitation services when needed.

Be a responsible pet owner. Keep current identification on your dog or cat at all times. Spay or neuter your pet. Always keep your dog or cat properly confined or supervised. In addition to the basics—food, water, shelter, and veterinary care—give your pet lots of love and attention. For assistance on pet care, visit www.PetsforLife.org.
Make a donation to Angels With Paws. Donate food, old blankets and towels, or other needed supplies. Become a member or sponsor a special needs cat.

Lend a hand. Volunteer your time with us; play with the cats, help groom the animals, stuff envelopes for a mailing, and help publicize an event or hold one on our behalf. Contact us for other ideas or what volunteer opportunities are available.

Choose your next pet from a local shelter. We have many wonderful cats of different colors and sizes just waiting for a permanent, loving home. Call us for information on pet adoption, visit www.petfinder.org/shelters/CO112.html.

Help spread the word. Tell your friends about our shelter's services. Promote animal safety and responsible pet ownership. Celebrate National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, the first full week of November.

Vote for the animals. Support legislation to protect animals. Contact government officials about animal issues and urge them to support pro-animal legislation. Want to know more, visit legislation & laws in the Citizen Lobbyist Center at the Humane Society of the United States www.hsus.org.

Be a hero. Report animal cruelty and neglect as well as injured or stray animals. You may prevent suffering and save a life.

Teach your children well. Instruct them in how to care for animals properly and how to treat them with kindness. Set an example by doing the same. For more information and to order humane education materials at www.nahee.org. The National Association for Humane and Environmental Education.
