My name is Dalaina Daniels. I started volunteering at AWP in 2021, I wanted to be a part of the wonderful work that the shelter is doing. I currently volunteer by holding the board positions of Secretary and Treasurer. I am amazed of all the challenging work and labor of love that goes into taking care of a shelter like this.
Volunteering here has given me a perfect place to spend time embracing my passion for animals, as I have been an animal lover my entire life. My mother started the Westminster Humane Society from our home back in the 70’s when I was growing up. I would help her take care of the cats and dogs that people would just leave in our back yard.
I have been enjoying working with the wonderful staff and volunteers and board members at AWP, it takes a village to keep a rescue running and everyone has that passion it takes to keep it going. I look forward to our new adventure with moving into our new building that is bigger so we can help more kitties.
