Our doors first opened on February 7, 2004, when a dedicated volunteer named Jean transformed a vacant Youngfield restaurant into a safe haven for animals in need. What began as a bold and heartfelt vision has since grown into a life-saving refuge.
Today, under new ownership, we are honored to carry this legacy forward and remain deeply committed to the values on which Angels With Paws was founded.

Who We Are
Angels With Paws is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer-based organization guided by a simple but powerful belief: every animal has the right to life.
We provide compassionate, long-term care for animals who need it most—including those who may never be adopted. Our ultimate dream is a future where no adoptable animal is ever euthanized.

Special Needs Care Residents include seniors and cats living with FeLV, FIV, diabetes, and incontinence.

FIP Treatment We proudly treat and have successfully saved cats diagnosed with FIP, offering hope where few options exist.
Shelter & Care Philosophy
At Angels With Paws, we strive to maintain a largely cage-free, stress-reducing environment where cats can feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Every animal receives medical attention, rehabilitation, and individualized support.
Community Network
We work closely with compassionate individuals and organizations across Denver to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter advocacy and public education on the harm of declawing.

A New Chapter
As our mission and impact continued to grow, so did the need for more space. In March 2023, Angels With Paws proudly purchased a new building, allowing us to expand our facilities and improve the level of care we provide.
After months of preparation and dedication, we officially moved into our new shelter in August 2023—a major milestone in our journey to save even more lives.
Our Greatest Challenge
Despite our growth and impact, rising costs for operations, supplies, medications, and veterinary care have placed Angels With Paws in a critical position. We are currently at risk of closing our doors and are reaching out to our Angels community for support.
With your help, we can continue this life-saving work and ensure that the cats who depend on us always have a safe place to land. Together, we can keep hope alive—for every paw, every whisker, and every life we touch.
