Meet Your Board Members

My name is Dalaina Daniels. I started volunteering at AWP in 2021, I wanted to be a part of the wonderful work that the shelter is doing. I currently volunteer by holding the board position of President. I am amazed of all the challenging work and labor of love that goes into taking care of a shelter like this. Volunteering here has given me a perfect place to spend time embracing my passion for animals, as I have been an animal lover my entire life. My mother started the Westminster Humane Society from our home back in the 70’s when I was growing up. I would help her take care of the cats and dogs that people would just leave in our back yard. I have been enjoying working with the wonderful staff and volunteers and board members at AWP, it takes a village to keep a rescue running and everyone has that passion it takes to keep it going. I look forward to our new adventure with moving into our new building that is bigger so we can help more kitties.

Cats have always held a special place in my heart, so it was only a matter of time before I found my way to Angels With Paws. I began supporting the organization in 2024 and officially started volunteering in March 2025 as a morning kitty feeder. What began as a simple feeding shift soon became a meaningful part of my week—and my life. I quickly fell in love with getting to know each cat’s unique personality and temperament. There’s immense joy in watching them receive the care they need and eventually connect with their forever homes. Professionally, I’m a strategic communication leader with experience in executive and organizational communications, change management, and employee engagement across global industries. I currently serve as Co-Vice President of Membership for the Colorado chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). I also volunteer with the Japan America Society of Colorado and am re-learning Japanese, a language I studied for five years. I hold degrees in psychology and sports broadcasting from Indiana University and began my career as a broadcast journalist. Angels With Paws has deepened my lifelong love for cats and connected me to a cause I care about, and I’m excited to support its mission through storytelling, outreach, and creative strategy.
